HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL IN mARCHINGTON AND THE WOODLANDS!
In the light of the new lockdown, the St Peter's PCC have made the difficult decision to close the church for services during January. We will make another decision as to whether we open again at the start of February. We are sorry if that is a disappointment for you, but with many of our congregation or their partners being expected to self isolate due to ongoing illness or treatment, and many not feeling comfortable coming to church since September, we felt that it was advisable to close.
Maggie Hatchard will endeavour to provide Zoom services during January.
Videos of previous services at St Peter's are available on our Youtube channel.

Your views are sought about the work of the churches in the Uttoxeter area. Please read the letter below and click on the link to take part in a survey.
Dear Church community member,
As the Church goes through many changes because of the Pandemic, Uttoxeter Deanery wants to ensure that the Churches of our area are well equipped now and, in the future, to shine the Kingdom of God into our locality, proclaiming the grace and hope that comes from knowing Jesus. To help us do this we, as a Deanery, are working closely with our Diocese on a Shaping for Mission programme to explore ways of making the future of our churches sustainable so that we can continue to reach the communities we are part of and also serve our neighbours. We aim to work out together our priorities as churches and how we can best use our resources to meet them.
A key part of this is to find out what local people think of what their Church is doing well and the good things that are happening in our church communities and to that end we enclose a link to a short online survey/questionnaire we would like you to undertake telling us about your church and your church community. With the financial challenges we now face, we want to be able to encourage what we are good at, what is working well and also help us to build and shape good things for the future.
The survey, which consist of just nine questions is going to as many people as possible in the Uttoxeter Deanery, whether their church involvement is small or large. Please complete one questionnaire per person preferably online but paper copies will also be available from your local church. Questionnaires should be completed no later than 17th January and we will then put together a report with our findings.
This survey is important to every church member as we shall submit its results to Deanery Synod and subsequently to the Bishop, to shape us for the future. It is important that we hear from every Church fellowship.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey, we value your prayerful honesty and your hopeful ideas.
If you have questions - please get in touch with the Rural Dean The Revd. Preb. Brian Leathers on firstname.lastname@example.org or write to The Vicarage, Limekiln Lane, Alton ST10 4AR

The work of the churches has continued during lockdown, but the closure of church buildings lead to a fall in parish income. If you would like to donate to either St Peter's or St John's Church, just click on the Donate Now button below.
